Nothing can stop me now

My goal is to someday open my own tattoo studio. Tattooing is my dream, my passion; and I am devoted to it.

I began an apprenticeship in August of 2008. My mentor was about as sharp as a marble. He was an awful teacher, made his girlfriend speak for him, and was highly pretentious.
My apprenticeship was not a total loss though, thanks to the help of other artists such as
Brian Johnson and Jason Dymond. They both taught me the significance of cleanliness, neatness and sanitation; though watching how my mentor took care of his tubes, also taught me what I should never do...such as leaving ink in tubes that are to be sterilized.
My mentor also demonstrated to me how effortlessly it is to deceive someone that has put a lot of both time and money into something when you are not the one running the show.

However, leaving the shop has benefited me in multiple ways.

I work with my piercing partner, Chris Sonzogni. His story is similar to my own, and apprenticed at the same shop. Working from our home studio has become very comfortable, and gives us both a chance to do business on our own schedules. My clients always come back for more, and tattooing people I am familiar with is most rewarding. :)
